What is Four Roll Crusher

The four-roll crusher, also known as the four-toothed roll crusher, is a medium and fine crushing equipment used in metallurgical and mining applications. It is suitable for ultra-fine crushing operations with a feed size below 90 mm and a product size ranging from 100 mesh to 5 mm. The four roller surfaces can be either welded overlay surfaces or smooth flat surfaces, and the combination can be selected according to the user’s required particle size. This equipment features a compact structure, small footprint, high crushing ratio, and relatively high output.

It can crush materials such as coal, coal gangue, slag, shale, limestone, pebbles, river pebbles, bluestone, siderite, basalt, granite, steel slag, cement clinker, construction waste, and other materials.

In the four-roll crusher, material enters the V-shaped crushing cavity between the upper pair of rollers. Under the extrusion force generated by the counter-rotating upper rollers, the material is squeezed and ground, then passes into the middle pair of rollers, which rotate in opposite directions. There, it undergoes secondary squeezing and fine crushing. Finally, the material enters the lower pair of rollers to be crushed to the required particle size, after which it is discharged by conveying equipment.

In sand production lines, the double-roll crusher functions as a sand-making machine, offering advantages such as no wear parts, low maintenance costs, adjustable sand particle size, high yield rate, and excellent sand particle shape. It is widely used in the sand-making industry.

Mineral Processing Crushing Applications

In the mineral processing industry, double-roll crushers or high-pressure roller mills are employed for fine crushing operations. Positioned upstream of ball mills, they can reduce 2-3 cm ore particles to less than 1 mm, significantly enhancing the operational efficiency of mineral processing ball mills and boosting overall production productivity.    

The four-toothed roller crusher uses four high-strength and wear-resistant rollers. The upper and lower rollers can choose toothed rollers or smooth rollers according to needs. The high extrusion force and shearing force generated by relative rotation are used to crush materials. After the material enters the gap between the upper two toothed rollers (V-shaped crushing cavity), it is squeezed and sheared by the relative rotation of the two toothed rollers. After the material is squeezed and sheared (coarse crushing), it enters the lower two relatively rotating rollers again. , and then squeezed, sheared, and ground (finely broken) by the lower two rollers into the required particle size and sent out by the conveying equipment.
