working principle

The working principle of the four-roll crusher involves three-stage material crushing through the compressive and shear forces generated by the relative rotation of four high-strength wear-resistant alloy rollers. Material first enters the V-shaped crushing cavity formed by the upper two rollers (coarse crushing zone) through the feed inlet, where it undergoes initial fragmentation under the combined effects of extrusion and shearing. The partially crushed material then moves to the middle two rollers (fine crushing zone) for secondary fragmentation to further refine particle size. In four-roll triple-crushing models (specifically designed for ultra-fine processing), the material proceeds to the lower two rollers (ultra-fine crushing zone) for a third crushing phase.

The discharge granularity (typically 0.3-60mm) is controlled by adjusting the adjustable roller gap (5-80mm). This process integrates three mechanical actions: extrusion, shearing, and grinding. Particularly suitable for medium-hardness materials like coke, ores, and coal, this mechanism achieves efficient fine and ultra-fine crushing operations.
